This plain, olive wood Latin cross has hand carved scalloped edges and the back is stamped with the 14 Stations of the Cross. The Latin cross is also called the Christian Cross since is used by all Christians throughout the world as a sign of Jesus' atonement for the sins of the world. When the Latin cross is displayed upside down, it is called St. Peter's Cross, since he requested to be crucified upside down counting himself unworthy to die in the same manner as the Messiah. If the Latin cross is displayed sideways, it is called St. Philips's cross since he was martyred in the same manner.
